2 meter high
It became a cylindrical shape over two meters high, its top and bottom rounded off. On various spots in the cylinder’s skin holes have been made with varying diameters. At a later stage, these holes will be filled – or not – with glazed parts. Van Blokland: 'Experiencing simplicity and tranquility, that is what this sculpture is about.' Prior to firing, the work is wrapped up in a covering layer of clay mixed with much straw. The holes, which have an important visual quality, will be used as well during firing: through the holes, additional wood can be added in places where it is needed. Through local reduction, the holes will be given more emphasis.
