Both the ceramic (exterior) sculptures and smaller objects are characterized by an austere design and contrasting colours. The stele and the circle are recurring forms in the work. These forms are often split in two, lending dramatic expression to the work. This is partly neutralized, however, by a chunk of coloured glass or a glazed colour plane, which reconnects the two divided segments. For the most part, the sculptures are executed in black/gray. Cobalt blue may be added as a soothing and meditative colour accent.
